Welcome to Grassroots Initiative (GI)
Empowerment for National Development (E.N.D)

Welcome to Grassroots Initiatives (GI), an initiative set up to empower disadvantaged individuals, groups, and communities within Sierra Leone.
We are conscious of the fact that community development is an integral part of national development and sustainable growth. We aim, therefore, to empower individuals and communities to organise themselves to improve their social, cultural, and economic well-being and society at large; to bring about changes around political issues that affect their lives. Through a bottom-up approach, we aim to engage the active participation of communities on matters that generally affect their livelihood.
Join us in this drive of promoting Grassroots Activism for community engagement in the promotion of national development and growth.
Our Vision
We envision a society in which individuals and communities are empowered to actively engage in the management of socio-economic programmes and governance and ensure sustainable development and progress.
Our Mission
GI’s Mission is to work diligently and collaboratively with individuals and communities to promote empowerment, sustainable development, and greater participation in democratic governance for the betterment of their society
Our Mandate
We seek to work towards the empowerment of individuals and communities to be fully engaged in participatory governance at the local level and the motivation of grassroots members to organise themselves to improve their social, cultural, and economic well-being.
